Daniel S. Kratka is the founder of Kratka Law Group. Mr. Kratka began his legal career as a criminal prosecutor in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, handling all phases of criminal litigation from inception of action through trial. He received special commendation for his trial work. Following his years as a prosecutor in Manhattan, Mr. Kratka was hired by a well-established Manhattan law firm to head its criminal litigation practice. Shortly after being hired, he was named a partner and spent 18-years growing the litigation practice and its winning track record.
Mr. Kratka was selected by the State of New York, Appellate Division, as a member of the Manhattan Family Court County panel, qualifying him to represent parents and children in a variety of family law matters. In addition, Mr. Kratka is a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and has been the attorney of record in many published legal decisions over the years.
Throughout his career, Mr. Kratka has successfully handled thousands of criminal cases, as well as litigated a variety of civil and commercial cases. Mr. Kratka received special training from the Elder Law College, and has handled hundreds of probate, trust, and estate matters. Mr. Kratka ‘s excellence in practice of law was recently recognized when he was selected as a 2023 recipient of the Lawyers of Distinction Award.
Mr. Kratka practices throughout the state courts of New York and New Jersey and represents clients in federal courts throughout the country. He lectures on a variety of legal topics, is the president of his synagogue and is involved in many charitable organizations. Mr. Kratka is a former All-City Basketball player, who still loves to play and coach.
